Verastem, Inc. is a biopharmaceutical company. The Company is focused on developing and commercializing medicines to improve outcomes for patients with cancer. The Company operates in the segment of developing drugs for the treatment of cancer. The Companyís marketed and developing products include defactinib and VS-6766. Defactinib is an oral small molecule inhibitor of FAK and PYK2 that is being evaluated as a potential combination therapy for various solid tumors. It is engaged in running clinical trials in cancers where there are limited treatment options, including leukemia, lymphoma, lung cancer, mesothelioma, ovarian cancer, head and neck cancer, colorectal cancer and pancreatic cancer. VS-6766 is an inhibitor of the RAF/MEK signaling pathway. VS-6766 blocks both MEK kinase activity and the ability of RAF to phosphorylate MEK.
