Global Net Lease, Inc. is a real estate investment trust (REIT). The Company is focused on acquiring a diversified global portfolio of commercial properties, with an emphasis on sale-leaseback transactions involving single tenant, mission critical income producing net-leased assets across the United States, Western and Northern Europe. The Company is in the business of acquiring real estate properties and leasing the properties to tenants. The Company operates through one segment that is the activities related to investing in real estate. The Company owns approximately 296 properties consisting of over 34.6 million rentable square feet. The Company may also originate or acquire first mortgage loans, mezzanine loans, preferred equity or securitized loans (secured by real estate).
